OUR BUSINESS TRAINING PROGRAM

Disability is a Human Rights and development issue, meaning that people with disabilities should enjoy equal rights and responsibilities to other people however this has been an on-going problem in our country as people with disabilities remain marginalized on top of the natural barriers that they are daily face, with no concrete solutions to their challenges. Barriers such as widespread ignorance and stereotypes have caused People with Disabilities to be unfairly discriminated against in society and therefore making it difficult for them to actively participate in the economy.People with Disabilities find it very difficult to get employment as some employers also shy away from employing them due to costly financial implications they will incur in preparing for their working environment i.e. infrastructural alterations as well as advanced technology to accommodate visually, physically and hearing impairments, health and safety plans (for example a lift and a lift alternative for emergency evacuations). It is because of such reasons that getting People with Disabilities into establishing their own business is an optimal solution and viable alternative.

 Our program addresses this challenge with a holistic approach where the narrative of having people with living disabilities are only afforded social grants and learnaships is changed to them becoming business owners who are compliant and can also become fully participant in the country’s economy.

 I myself as a person with a disability have had the opportunity to work with a few state owned entities where I learned that the minimum set target of 2% of empowering people with disabilities is never reached,that is when I identified the gap.

 Our program makes sure that it comes with all the assistance that could be a barrier to the journey starting a compliant registered business.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

 

 

  • One of the companies’ founding principles and pillars is Social Responsibility. Whilst striving to grow the company and create employment, we cannot ignore the reality that within the community there are challenges being faced especially by children.

 

It is said education is the key and education is important. As Zakhe holdings we pledged to assist primary school children who were in desperate need of school shoes. That pledge was honored as our company directly initiated a drive to acquire school shoes.
